Giving a great cause a lift in Newmarket

Visit our Newmarket location on Oct. 30 and support the Southlake Regional Health Centre

WingsUp!’s franchisee in Newmarket is serving up a bold new flavour this month.

Every order placed at the Newmarket location on Oct. 30 comes with a side of community good, as 100 percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Southlake Regional Health Centre in support of our healthcare heroes.

“I am always willing to give back to community whenever possible, and the idea came to me to support the hospital,” said Margesh Patel, Newmarket franchisee.

Margesh and his wife first immigrated to Canada in 2012 from Madras, India and he quickly found work as a restaurant manager. During his first eight years in Canada, Margesh gained experience and set aside money but kept his sights set on owning his own business.

In 2020, he was researching franchise options when a friend in Burlington told him about WingsUp!, which offered something new to Newmarket while also proving to be COVID-ready thanks to our focus on takeaway and our robust digital ordering tools.

Margesh’s WingsUp! location opened this spring and is the first WingsUp! location in Newmarket.

“It has been a good experience with a fast-growing company that is Canada’s first name in wings,” said Margesh. “I like the concept and the model, which makes for a super easy operation. I especially like that we’re serving fresh chicken wings – everything is fresh. You can taste the difference.”

As for his suggestion on what to taste first? Margesh is a fan of the honey garlic parmesan – “three flavours in one sauce!” – and also calls the garlic bread with cheese and potato skins sides hidden gems on the menu.

Pop in to 54 Davis Dr. Newmarket on Oct. 30 if you’re looking to taste test for yourself and to help out the Southlake Regional Health Centre.

Whether you’re driven to be your own boss, become a community leader, or become an investor, there’s a WingsUp! franchise waiting for you on WingsUp! Franchise Site
